This production carries with it the sweet and exciting folks songs of Hawaii to the Las Vegas sounds of pop music and rock and roll. Al’s vocals and musicianship on both ukulele and guitar with the accompaniment of Jim Rice on keyboards and Myra Durfee creating the sounds of Polynesian drums, will be a night full of surprises that you will not want to miss. AL LORENZO, JR. was born in 1952 in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii; family (Ohana), of musically talented individuals. His family was made up of singers, dancers, and accomplished musicians of their culture and heritage. At the age of 10, Al started playing the ukulele and various musical instruments to accompany his family’s band. Al studied music in high school and through college. He obtained scholastic honors to Kansas State and at that time, moved to the USA. Al toured the continental United States in the 70’s with various musical groups. Besides performing Top 40 music and songs from the American Song Book, Al presented (2) floor shows to his audiences in Las Vegas every night. The Hawaiian Show, primarily Don Ho favorites, and a Rock ‘n Roll show primarily Sha Na Na & Elvis Presley favorites. He toured The Holiday Inn circuits and Independent Showrooms and Clubs. Al opened for Rufus Thomas in Memphis, and ventured with Stax Records. He joined Charley Pride on stage in Lafayette, Louisiana. Al was also the Operations Manager of Wellington’s Night Club in Memphis: The “Hot Spot of The South”. He has worked with the Presley Family and Rick Dees. And after 43 years, Al’s love for singing and entertaining audiences never left his heart.
